Hi guys, this might be a question best suited for another site but I may as well ask here, does anyone have experience with sticker cutters on Linux? Something similar to CriCut but preferably with a native / more usable Linux build.
I’m aware I can virtual machine Windows to make a CriCut work, but if there’s an alternative that works directly on Linux with no hassle then I would much rather spend my money on that. I currently have no sticker cutting machine, so I just cut my stickers by hand.
It seems like most people using sticker cutters on Linux use a virtual machine specifically for the software or have another janky workaround. Although I have access to Windows, I would really rather not boot it just for this. My daily driver is Linux Mint and at this point I’m trying to eliminate any Windows dependency in my personal space (which, I admit I’ll probably have to concede on for some things, but it’s almost none already).

I'm also curious if there are any Linux compatible sticker cutters, I've been really interested in picking up a Cricut this past month, no idea they weren't Linux compatible

Yeah, apparently you can do some chicanery getting the installer to run through Proton (I misremembered thinking that people were using VMs), but I read that even keeping it updated can be a bit fiddly. I’m not an expert, this is just based on me reading Reddit threads (I just pulled this one back up). But at the least, it definitely seems like it’s not officially supported. Let me know if you find something that works natively, I’ll also update this thread if I do, or if I just bite the bullet on something else. Proton definitely isn’t a dealbreaker for me, use it all the time, it’d just be nice if I find something without any hassle for updates or concern for future compatibility / anything breaking with updates.Onio wrote: Sun May 31, 2026 6:57 pm I'm also curious if there are any Linux compatible sticker cutters, I've been really interested in picking up a Cricut this past month, no idea they weren't Linux compatible
