Why am I here?: I am owner of Onio.Club (https://onio.club) and VibesQuest (https://vibes.fish). I'm really interested in personal websites, chatrooms, and interactive multiplayer web experiences. I am also really interested in modded hardware. I like things with a lot of character and personality, whether that's soft and quiet or loud and fast, as long as it feels authentic and has some heart invested into it. That's why I liked modded hardware and personal websites, they're canvases for individual expression
There are so many interesting, knowledgeable, and cool people I've met through the onio.club chatroom, but chat messages get lost to time. I'm really looking forward to digging into longer form discussion with a lot of you cool people.
Fun facts:
I am from the USA, my timezone is EST, I am an UNC, my favorite food is pizza. I have a small tech channel on YouTube. I like modding thinkpads, playing with esp32 microcontrollers, creating web projects, riding a motorcycle, walking, making videos, shooting photography, creating cool experiences!
About the name:
My name 'Onionboots' originated in 2019 when I needed a username for Minecraft. I couldn't think of a good one, so I combined the first two words I could think of: 'onion' + 'boots'. People would refer to me as 'Onion' in-game, I began using that on Discord (when I was active), and when I finally moved to the indie web, I shortened it to 'Onio'. The name has layers (pun intended). I boot up a lot of different computers and operating systems, so onion boots. IO stand for input/output and I'm usually ON-line, so ON.IO would've been on-brand for me if that domain wasn't already taken >:(
