Back in the old days (when I was 12) I had a geocities site, so I was part of the OG wave of internet culture (and I was proud to handcode it in HTML) instead of using a WYSIWYG like Dreamweaver. It has long been offline. Bizarrely, my website at the time, had a door. Why? Because I guess clicking buttons and getting surprised by the world lurking behind them was somehow exciting?

I enjoy music a lot so if you see me in the chat you can usually win me over by sending me a link to a really cool track you have been listening to lately. I also have a little space where I grow fruits and vegetables out in the real world, so I like learning about what other people are growing in their gardens.

I think technology is supposed to serve us and I agree with Onio that sometimes it feels like in modern life, it has become the other way around. The slower pace of the indie web where we can browse and explore instead of being hooked up to an infinite scroll firehose, is definitely my thing.

Fun facts:
I am from the UK, my timezone is GMT/UTC, I am an auntie and my favorite food is Japanese rice (I love those little round pearls of perfection). I like walking in nature (even in the rain, I just wear a raincoat), plants and being outdoors. I lived in Japan for three and a half years but now I'm back in the UK. I barely speak Japanese and cannot read kanji.

Welcome aboard!!

I really dig this pirate radio station idea I think I've mentioned it to you before, but figwasp radio on Neocities was a really neat group listening and streaming project. A little chatroom, a predetermined weekly meeting time, and a personal DJ to entertain maybe 7 or 8 of us, it was great! Would love to see more projects like that, maybe we can put something like that back up.

Geocities!! I think my front page is still viewable through the Internet Archive. I remember making websites there and on Expage at 11, 12 years old. That's where I met my longest friend back in 2002, and we still talk almost daily to this day! I never got to play much around with Dreamweaver, but I remember that being the hot software back then as well
