Hello Onio Club Nation! Today i'd like to share my website and a bit of how it came into existence!

Check it out!

A few years ago, I grew so tired from my career. As a frontend dev, i've been longing for a job that would allow me to build more interactive and creative pages, but I was stuck in the same job fields with the same boring forms and tables to maintain. Work consumes around 8h of my day, at least i wanted those hours to be a tiny bit meaningful!! So that's when i decided to take a leap of faith and left my job.

I was already trying for a long time to build a portfolio, but I didnt want to build the same old layout everybody was doing at that time. I wanted something unique and interactive, that could showcase my skills. After stumbling upon that poolside website, I knew i had to make something like that. A fake OS website could have so much potential! That's when kuroiOS was born. Took many months to get to a stable version but, not to brag, it was a hit on Linkedin 8-)

But very quickly I noticed I didn't want it to only be a work portfolio, I'd have way more fun with if it was something personal, somewhere i could play around, try new skills and post whatever I wanted, especially since i was already very burnt out from social media. Not long after i found out about neocities and well, here we are! Having genuine connections and getting to know all kinds of cool websites

It didnt help me land on a creative job unfortunately but it did call out attention from my current company, so I guess it did work in some way xD

Hope you enjoyed this tiny bit of history lol

I'm happy you've shared KuroiOS, it is a work of art. I'm always seeing people mention how inspired they are by it, and it totally belongs here. I am still not over loading the floppy into the computer and watching the boot up sequence, and it works so smoothly on mobile on well! The themes and apps and the details and so much more, and still so chuffed with your button neighborhood. Excellent website and really cool to read some of the history behind it (Poolside is such a cool site and it must have been exciting to have a hit on LinkedIn!) Thank you for sharing :D
