Favorite Video Game

Wanna shout-out my favorite game Hyper Light Drifter!
It has my favorite use of pixel art I've ever seen and has a beautiful world to explore with very vibrant visuals.
The story is told entirely visually with no dialogue and is somewhat up to interpretation and is accompanied by an amazing soundtrack. (bought the vinyl for it not too long ago)
It is truly a passion project from the creator and you can feel it in everything that this game has to offer.



The gameplay is also super smooth. It is quite a difficult game at first with a bunch of really cool boss battles but once you get the hang of it you can finish the main story in a few hours.

I highly recommend anyone to try it out, its a pretty cheap game to pick up.

I really wish the studio stuck to this style but sadly they moved into 3D for their other games, maybe someday.

I always hated trying to answer a question like that. If favorites are calculated by sheer play time it'd have to be Project Zomboid, Factorio or Rimworld. If it's by what ones I think of most often then New Vegas, Celeste or Caves of Qud. If the measurement is total length of time played it would have to be WoW. Played that from 2004 to about 2017 or so. Favorite is always hard to choose as I love a bunch of different games for a bunch of different reasons. Can never just choose one.

Rolling Thunder 3, by Namco, for the Sega Genesis, is one of my favorite games. It's the third installment in the Rolling Thunder trilogy. The first two are arcade games. Rolling Thunder 3 introduces a new character, Jay, to stop Dread, the last member of the global terrorist organization Geldra, and destroy the organization forever. It's a run-and-gun side-scroller with an action-driven story and a Bond-esque antagonist. It takes you through various well-designed levels, with absolutely wonderful music. You get a wide array of weapons to choose from at the beginning of each level, but once you use them, you can't select them again. You can get and refill them by entering certain doors on each level, but they don't carry over to other levels, so you have to consider that. Suffice to say, using the bazooka in level one, for example, isn't exactly a smart choice. There are also out-of-the-way and hidden shortcuts that let you skip some levels, a common feature in games made back in the day. Rolling Thunder 3 also has a password system to unlock multiple things, including hard mode.

I agree, when i start thinking of favorites in different categories i end up with vastly different answers for favorite. Most played might be Minecraft or Genshin, favorite gameplay i might choose Sekiro, favorite story red dead redemption 2 and most nostalgia pokemon but sometimes a game just adds everything into one in a really good way or i just played it at the right time in my life. I think for me my favorite game might not be number 1 in any of those categories but its top 3 in all of the categories into one game, at least for me personally.

A forever difficult question to answer! Gosh... There are so many titles I could pick from!

The first that immediately comes to mind is Paradise Killer! I've replayed that game some 10+ times simply because I enjoy traversing the world, the characters, the story, all of it way too much! The game also has my ultimate most favorite OST of all time too, you should check it out below!

It's a murder mystery visual novel adventure game lmao...

Though, some other games that I might have said on a different day are... Fear & Hunger 2: Termina, The Silver Case, Silent Hill 2, Control, Divinity Original Sin 2, Killer 7, Promise Mascot Agency, Yume Nikki... I could go on forever I fear!

That's a question with an ever changing answer, so for me at this moment in time I have to go with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater for the PS2, this game is outright impressive for it's time and Kojima used and abused the pressure sensitive face buttons of the PS2 and PS3 controller.

But what wins this game for me is the characters and the plot twist (no spoilers), the characters are so good, Snake, The Boss, Volgin, Ocelot, The Cobras, Para-medic, etc.

The gameplay is good and it's all about creativity on how to tackle a certain area or fight a boss, only one thing that bothered me was that I was not playing the "Substance" version, on the original you only have the top-down camera and in this game the enemy can see you from far away and you can't see them sometimes.

I don't even have to mention the cutscenes or the dialog they are all peak in one way or another, It's a Kojima game after all
